The vintages of Treytins Lalande de Pomerol 2005 2004 2003 2002 2001 2000 1999 1998 1997
2006 Colour : Dark red with garnet highlights. Nose : Discrete oak supports the expressive fruit showing notes of blackcurrant. Palate : The attack is clean, the supple tannins supporting good volume on the palate, with a pleasant finish. Climatic conditions : An excellent year with several important rains in March and also several hot periods in July et September. A very good flowering in June. Harvesting at full ripeness began September 21. Ageing potential : 2009-2013
2005 Silver Medal, Challenge International du vin de Bourg 2007 Color : Dense, deep pure red. Nose : The discreet toasty aromas of the barrel complement the fruity aromatic expression. Palate : Powerful yet smooth tannins enhance the great volume of this wine. The finish is warm and lingering. Climatic conditions : Cold winter, hot spring and summer with above normal temperatures. Good flowering, excellent harvesting conditions in September and October. Harvest began on September 14. Ageing potential: 2009-2014
2004 Color : Dense with purple highlights. Nose : Atractive nose of ripe red fruit enhanced by fine notes of oak. Palate : Supple in the mouth thanks to elegant, smooth tannins. Lovely finish. Climatic conditions : Cold, dry winter. Rapid, homogeneous flowering under good conditions resulting in a potentially heavy crop. Rainy August, beautiful September. Harvest : Began September 27. Ageing potential: 2008-2012 The press Treytins 2004 ***, Lalande de Pomerol. Without being particularly exuberant or imposing, this Lalande sets itself apart with a satisfying freshness, typical of classic Bordeaux. Supple, easy to drink, well rounded and balanced. Drink during the coming three years. Guide Phaneuf 2008 (Canada) Treytins 2004 ***, Lalande de Pomerol; for the money, this must-have Lalande de Pomerol is one of the great buys from the region for wines priced under thirty dollars. Like the 2003 vintage, where Merlot dominates the blend, this 2004 showcases the Cabernet Franc, which slightly changes the profile, playing off the liveliness and classic elegance of this great variety. The resulting red is flagrant and fine, smooth yet refreshing in the mouth, with elegant, tightly-knit tannins that give way to hints of strawberry and coffee. Blend : 49% Cabernet Franc, 39% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon. Guide Chartier 2008 (Canada) 2003
Color :
Limpid,
dark red with blue highlights.
Nose :
The fruit displays acidulous notes, setting itself apart from the elegant, well-integrated oak.
Palate :
The attack is firm without aggressiveness. A good acidity reveals volume supported by plump tannins. The persistent finish is attractive. Evolution : It will start to open up in 2 to 3 years and can be aged for 5 to 6 years.
Climatic conditions : Rainy weather at flowering caused significant "coulure" (shatter). Summer was dry and the hottest in half a century, resulting in a crop less than a third of the normal size over the last fifty years.
The harvest began on September 22. Ageing ability : 2007-2011 2002
Color :
Beautiful limpid red color, veering towards garnet.
Nose : The delicate wood contributes notes of caramel and toast without dominating the blackcurrant aroma.
Palate : The supple attack is very pleasant, followed by plenty of volume. The tightly-knit tannins are very present without any aggressiveness. The lingering finish is mellow.
Evolution :Very young, it should start to open in 2005, and reach its peak towards 2008.
Climatic conditions
: A lack of rain for most of the year, with several cloudy cold spells. The flowering of the Merlots was greatly disrupted by a cold wave that caused uneven fertilization of flowers (coulure, millerandage). But the autumn sun allowed us to pick beautiful, ripe Cabernets. Harvest started
on October 7. Ageing ability : 2005-2008 The press
Treytins 2002 * - Born on gravelly hillside soils from 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and Franc, this saturated ruby wine displays delicious floral aromas (jasmine) and fig, intermingled with notes of spice and wood. The tannins are ripe and fine, balanced on the finish. A great combination to enjoy now or in two or three years time.
Guide Hachette des Vins 2006 - (France)
Treytins 2002, Lalande de Pomerol.
The nose already displays great finesse : light, fine wood, green pepper, fresh red fruit, spices and a touch of resin reminiscent of a Pauillac. This wine is perfectly bordelais with its three grape varieties dominated by Merlot. Full in the mouth, mentholated, young, and fresh, it is endowed with a heady yet light finish. A very pleasurable, beautifully crafted wine. Try it with Tournedos Rossini.
Jean-François Demers, Le Devoir, 26 August 2005 - (Canada)
Treytins 2002, Lalande de Pomerol.
If there were a wine that was comparable in quality and style to the velvety thickness of a Pomerol, it’s the remarkable
Treytins 2002, offered at a price that defies all competition. This Lalande de Pomerol exhibits purity on the nose and elegant fruit. It is round on the palate, with silky tannins, attractive freshness, amazing persistence, and hints of plum, cacao and coffee. A well-bred wine that reaches the heights of harmony… Try it with sautéed quail and wild rice with mushrooms, but a simple dish such as a lamb hamburger with red pepper confit and blue cheese could put the spotlight on this highly prized nectar. François Chartier, La Presse de Montréal, 2 September 2005 - (Canada)

Natural balance makes it enjoyable now. If you have some, keep it for four or five more years. ***.Michel Phaneuf, Le Guide du Vin 2005 - (Canada)

The press Asian cuisine and red wine ?. … To get you closer to the power of Bordeaux without destroying your wine, you can go for a Merlot-based wine, such as the Treytins Lalande de Pomerol 2000. Treytins 1999 Lalande de Pomerol **1/2. Very
lovely Merlot nose with notes of mushroom, smoke and licorice. Quite
full bodied in the mouth, the tannins are firm but well enveloped by the
fruit. The flavors are a bit smoky and the ensemble is refreshing. The
wine has a certain pronounced hardness that two years of cellaring
should erase. If you’d like to drink it now, decant the wine a good
hour before serving it.
Le
Journal de Québec, Claude Langlois, January 11, 2003, (Canada).
Treytins, Lalande de Pomerol 1999 - Located on a gravelly hillside, the château deserves to be cited for its wine that is already very open: the bouquet of ripe fruit is in harmony with the notes of vanilla from the barrel, as well as with the powerful, racy, balanced tannins. A wine to appreciate in two or three
years. Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2003. (France).

But even now it is enchanting, by virtue of its fruity, fresh nose and the sweetness on the palate thanks to the quality of its tannins. To compare Garraud and Treytins would be in vain! Brothers don’t have to be twins. However, a remarkable complementarily links them. As for Château Garraud, silence and meditation. To classify, beyond the shadow of a doubt, in the “very good, not expensive” category…. Admirable balance, dominated by mellow, smooth black fruit, as profound as the key of A minor, standard bearer of the Lalande de Pomerol appellation. Le Soleil, La Bonne Table, Montréal, March 2001, (Canada) In the same vein as the Bordeaux 1997, look for Garraud Lalande de Pomerol, with absolute velvetiness and persistent flavors ***½, and Château Treytins, Lalande de Pomerol 1997 ***.
